School Captains
The School Captains are the cornerstone of the leadership program at Fountain Gate Secondary College. They are responsible for making important decisions that impact on the student body and creating student focused change. They guide the Year Level Captains in extra-curricular pursuits, including fundraising that benefits the local, state, national and international community. The school captains welcome important guests into our school and attend leadership forums with students from other schools across Victoria and Australia. They speak confidently in front of students, staff and parents at whole school events including assemblies, performance evenings and Open Night. The school captains have left a strong legacy at FGSC and continue to represent our community with great pride.
School Vice-Captains
The School Vice-Captains provide a supportive role to the School Captains, and are called upon to replace the School Captains if they are unavailable for an official duty. The School Vice-Captains are selected from Year 10 and Year 8, which provides a strong level of connectedness through the middle and junior schools.
House Captains
The House Captains use their leadership qualities to build school spirit and increase student involvement at events such as the swimming and athletics carnival. This year the House Captains will work to represent and involve students in other talent areas such as visual communication and performing arts. They represent all members of their house and lead by example through encouraging students to participate and earn house points.
Senior Rugby Leader
As a valued participant in our college’s Rugby Academy, the Senior Rugby Leader works closely with the coaches, teachers and team mates to lead and inspire. They are regularly called upon to represent the Rugby Academy with officials and visitors to our college. The Senior Rugby Leader acts as a good role model for the Rugby Academy and ensures our college’s values are reflected in all of their actions.
Year Level Captains
Two students are selected from each year level to represent their prospective cohort. Supported by the college captains they help to run many extra-curricular pursuits and fundraising events. They also provide their insights and thoughts to school policies.
Student Representative Council (SRC)
Members of the SRC help to facilitate the many fundraising events and awareness day’s hosted by the Young Leaders.
Fountain Gate Leadership:
Leadership at Fountain Gate has given us the rewarding opportunity to represent our school in the community and enjoy the responsibilities and pride that comes with working alongside our fellow students.
Fountain Gate Secondary College is my second home which has provided much more than a nurturing academic environment for me and my peers. Seeing the College grow and develop physically and academically not only brings me joy but also immense pride. With much potential and ever-growing opportunities, I am excited for the younger students of the College to experience what I have and more!
